Meet Update Information
I hope this communication finds you well, as well as your friends and families during these uncertain times. Looking at the current critical situation in the PanAmerican Region and current travel restriction to Puerto Rico for International Travelers due to this COVID-19 virus, the Pan-American Masters Weightlifting Federation has decided to change Championship events from a live meet to a Virtual Meet.
We have many Master Athletes in the PanAmerican region with no access to local or National meets that need to qualify for 2021 World Master Games, PanAms Championships or any other IWF International Competition.
The dates for the Meet are June 8 to June 12, 2022.
New Virtual Meet Registration Fee: $125.00
New Qualifying Period:
May, 2021 through April 30, 2022.

We will mail and refund the registration price different ($68.00) to all current registered athletes after the end of the new registration date: September 28, 2020. The insctruction and information for the Virtual Meet are posted below,

Viendo la situación crítica que se encuentra el mundo entero por esta infección del coronavirus (covid-19) la junta de la Panamericana Máster de Levantamiento de Pesas hemos decidido cambiar el evento de fechas. El evento estaba pautado para realizarse del 27 al 31 de mayo del 2020.
Tenemos muchos Athletas Masters que necesitan qualificar para los Juegos Minduales Masters De Levantamiento De Pesas en Japon. Muchos de estos athletas Masters no tienen las faciliadades locales or Nacionales para competir o cualificar. Atavez de la competencia Virtual estos Athletas Masters podran qualificar para competencias ineternacionales del 2021..

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- Athletes must be current registered Masters athletes’ members to their respective countries. Make sure your membership is current and up to date. Any questions contact your Country Chairman.
- Athletes must have registered for Masters PanAms Championship (Registration Closed 9/28)
- Athletes must submit all required information on the entry page
- Athletes must submit a weigh in video and at least 1 Snatch and 1 Clean & Jerk video with a visible timestamp, clock or timer at all times. A maximum of 2 Snatch and 2 Clean & Jerk videos may be submitted ** Please see below for weigh in video and time stamp exceptions for recognized club events**
- Videos must be set at 400cm (approximately 12 ft.) from the athletes start position or make the best effort - if that is not possible ensure the video shows the athlete from overhead lock out to floor
- Camera must be placed directly in front of the athlete and raised directly in front of the athlete i.e. videos filmed from the ground or from a side view will not be accepted
- Weights may be in kilograms (kg) or pounds(lb). The weight scale can be digital or mechanical and must be calibrate by using a 5kg or 10 lbs plate showing the correct weight on the scale.
- Black pound plates must display weight markers in the video either at the beginning or end of the submission
- Weight must be submitted in kg to the lowest whole number for ex. 100.8kg will be recorded as 100kg. The conversion rate for kilograms to pounds is 2.20462.
- Due to the nature of this event we ask that all athletes compete with integrity and to respect their fellow athletes when sending in submissions

WEIGH IN REQUIREMENTS
- This event will be used as the 2020 Masters PanAmerican Weightlifting Championships. Athletes will be required to weigh in and compete within the same time limit as they would at a regular Masters PanAms event
- The weight scale (digital or mechanical) must be calibrate by using a 5kg or 10 lbs plate showing the correct weight on the scale.
- Weigh In must be in a singlet (no socks, no watch or neckless as in a Master PanAms event). * We will allow .5kg allowance on you weigh-in to make for the difference.
- Athletes wishing to go DOWN in weight class, must submit this change in writing no later than Aug 12, midnight EST (submit to panamericanmasters@gmail.com)
- An athlete may move to a higher weight class at weigh in or ahead of time by email submission.
- Athletes may choose to weigh in and immediately lift OR wait the normal 2 hours after weigh in. Snatch submission must be within 2 hours of weigh in. Clean and jerks can begin immediately after snatches or within 1 hour of last snatch.
Video submission clock example: If the athlete weighs in at 1 pm the Snatch video MUST be before 4pm (2 hours after weigh in) and the Clean & Jerk MUST be between 4pm and 5pm (no later than 4 hours) with the clock displayed to reflect.

MEET WEIGHTLIFTING RULES
- Belts must be of legal size (12cm – 4.75 inches). Include a visual measure in weigh in video if you think there is any question.
- Submitted lifts MUST meet the qualifying total to be accepted
- Only one SUBMISSION per athlete will be accepted
- Stepping off the platform is “no lift.” Make sure platform is clearly marked and visible in video. If using bright color tape (red, white, yellow, blue, etc.) make sure to clearly display before or after your lift. The IWF requires competition weightlifting platforms to be a 4m x 4m square, or 13 x 13 feet. We understand that some areas will be limited space and to a small platform. You can use a small 8 x 8 feet platform and mark the outside area measuring 13 x 13 feet.
- If you don't have 13 x 13 feet space and are using your garage or small space to record your lifts. Please mark your respective area to allow enough distance to record your lift showing your entire body and weights.
- Pulling straps are not allowed, tape on the elbows are not allowed, Singlets and leotards (if applicable) must meet USAW guidelines.
- Videos that do not include a weight check, or a weight check that does not show the entire person on the scale will not be accepted and will call for disqualification **exceptions for club events, see below**
- In the case of a tie, we are re-introducing the old rule of body-weight for fairness purpose and the awards are given to the athlete with a lower body weight that posted their video submission.
- Videos that do not display the weights following the lifts will be considered “NO LIFT”.
ALL IWF RULES WILL BE IN PLACE with the exception of the Drug Testing. I.E. Athlete must be motionless before the jerk. Athlete must be in control of the bar and pause (as if for a down signal) before dropping the bar. Athletes may not touch the barbell with footwear. If you have a lock out issue before starting the lift show the judges your full extension, pause, then lift.
**exceptions for Clubs or Gyms events, see below**

- All registered athletes will be provided a link for entry.
- Athlete must upload official Country ID, Passport, Driver Lic., issued photo ID with birth date.
- Snatch submission: Athlete must submit one video (and up to 2) with a visible clock or timer that has been continuous since weigh- in (Please note that the VIDEO does not need to be continuous). A time stamp app is fine. Camera must be placed directly in front of the athlete. Full body must be visible.
- Clean & Jerk submission: Athlete must submit one video (up to 2). Same rules as in snatch.
- All weights must be submitted in kilograms but can be filmed and tested in pounds or kilograms.
- Each video submission MUST clearly display the weights (each plate) and barbell to verify weight submission.
- Video file name should be listed as follows: Athlete Name_Lift_Weight class_Gender _ AgeGroup. Upload snatch, clean and jerk and body weight.
- Video format: MP4 other formats such as .MOV may be unreadable I.E. Videos filmed on an iphone and not converted may not be readable on this platform.
- Videos will not be published in a viewable gallery until the close of the competition, and after final results are published.

WEIGHTLIFTING CLUB or GYM EVENTS
- Clubs or Gyms Event Guidelines: If you are a Gym/Club manager or Gym/Club owner and want to organize a group to help masters athletes in submitting results, let us know. Club results will be use for verification.
- In order to participate in any event held at your Club or Gym, the Club or Gym must have at least ONE National or IWF level referee present and be willing to verify that all weights are legitimate.
- Each club will be responsible for the verification of weigh in (by the National or IWF level referee),
- All athletes MUST STILL RECORD and submit videos in of the official lifting entry, weigh-in and profile picture. In this case, for weigh in, the athlete will upload the video of the verified weigh in.
- Timestamp and weight verification are not required for in person events.
- All Gym’s or Clubs will be expected to practice social distancing as well as any other requirements set forth by their Country or locality and their respective National Weightlifting Federations.
- A list of participating clubs will be published as soon as they are verified.

- Submissions will be reviewed by National or IWF level referees and above for approval and qualification
- The Master PanAms Federation Committee will assign each age group/weight class to the same 3 Referees for consistency
- If your submission is rejected you will receive an email informing you of the decision
- If your submission is accepted you will see the results uploaded to and publish on the Master PanAms Weightlifting Federation website within 2 weeks after competition close. https://masterpanamweightlifting.org

REQUISITOS GENERALES
- Los atletas deben ser miembros actuales de sus respectivas Federaciones de Masters y deben esta registrados activamente con sus respectivos países. Asegúrese de que su membresía esté actualizada y al dia. Cualquier pregunta póngase en contacto con su presidente/Chaiman de su país.
- Los atletas deben haberse registrado para el Campeonato Masters PanAmericano (Inscripción Cerrada 28 De Septiembre, 2020)
- La registración para la competencia Virtual será reducida a $60 dólares para los gastos de premiaciones, manejos de envíos y el sistema para subir y montaje de los videos y servicios de la página.
- Los atletas deben enviar toda la información requerida en la página de entrada
- Los atletas deben presentar su peso corporal grabado en vídeo el mismo dia que realizara las pruebas.
-Debe grabarce realizando de 1 a 2 alzadas por arranque y por envion el mismo dia que se pesaron. De estas alzadas se adjudicara al total la mejor. Las alzadas seran evaluadas por 3 albitros certificados.
- ** Por favor, vea a continuación las excepciones de pesaje en video y marca de tiempo para eventos reconocidos del club**
- Los videos deben ajustarse a 400 cm (aproximadamente 12 pies) desde la posición de inicio de los atletas o hacer el mejor esfuerzo - si eso no es posible asegurar que el video muestra al atleta desde el bloqueo superior hacia el suelo

LOS REQUISITOS DE PESAJE
- Este evento se utilizará como el Campeonato Panamericano de Levantamiento de Pesas Masters 2020. Los atletas tendrán que sopesar y competir dentro del mismo límite de tiempo que lo harían en un evento regular de Masters PanAmericano.
- La báscula de peso (digital o mecánica) debe calibrarse utilizando un disco de 5 kg o 10 lbs que muestre el peso correcto en la báscula.
- Los atletas que deseen ir ABAJO en clase de peso, deben presentar este cambio por escrito a más tardar del 27 de Septiembre, medianoche EST (presentarse a panamericanmasters@gmail.com )
- Un atleta puede pasar a una clase de peso más alto en el pesaje en o antes de tiempo por envío de correo electrónico.
- El pesaje debe estar en un singlet (sin calcetines, sin medias, sin reloj o cadena en el cuello como en un evento De Maestro PanAms)
- Los atletas pueden optar por pesar y levantar inmediatamente, o pueden esperar las normales 2 horas después de pesar. La presentación de la realizacion de las alzadas debe ser dentro de las 2 horas despues del pesaje.
- Luego de las pruebas de Arranque tiene un maximo de tiempo de descanzo de 1 hora para realizar las pruebas de envion. Durante es tiempo puede preparar el area y de levantamiento y descansar.
Ejemplo de reloj de envión de vídeo: Si el atleta pesa a la 1 pm, el vídeo de Arranque DEBE ser antes de las 4pm (2 horas después de pesar) y el Envión DEBE estar entre las 4pm y las 5pm (a más tardar 4 horas) con el reloj mostrado para reflejar.

REGLAS DE LEVANTAMIENTO DE PESAS DEL EVENTO
- Los cinturones deben ser de tamaño legal (12cm – 4.75 pulgadas). Incluya una medida visual en el peso en el video si cree que hay alguna pregunta.
- Los cambios presentados en la barra DEBEN cumplir con el total calificado para ser aceptados
- Solo se aceptará una PRESENTACIÓN por atleta
- Salir de la plataforma es alzada nula. Asegúrate de que la plataforma esté claramente marcada y visible en el vídeo. Si utiliza cinta de color clara (blanca, amarillo, rojo o azul) que se pueda ver , asegúrese de mostrar claramente antes de comenzar las alzadas. La IWF requiere que las plataformas de levantamiento de pesas de la competencia sean de 4m x 4m cuadrados, o 13 x 13 pies. Entendemos que algunas áreas serán de espacio limitado y a una pequeña plataforma. Puede utilizar una pequeña plataforma de 8 x 8 pies y marcar el área exterior de 13 x 13 pies.
- Si no tienes 13 x 13 pies de espacio y estás usando tu garaje o espacio pequeño para grabar sus alzadas. Por favor, marque su área respectiva para permitir suficiente distancia para grabar sus alzadas mostrando todo su cuerpo y las pesas.
- No se permiten correas de tracción, no se permite la cinta adhesiva en los codos, las Trusas o Singlets y leotardos (si corresponde) deben cumplir con las directivas de la IWF.
- Los videos que no incluyan un control de peso, o un control de peso que no muestre a toda la persona en la báscula no serán aceptados y pedirán la descalificación **excepciones para eventos del Club o Gym, ver más abajo**
- En el caso de un empate, estamos re-introduciendo la antigua regla del peso corporal con fines de equidad y los premio se otorgara al atleta con un peso corporal más bajo que publique su presentación de vídeo.
- Los vídeos que no muestren los pesos que siguen a las levantadas se considerarán "NO LIFT".
TODAS LAS REGLAS DE IWF SE ENCUENTRAN EN LUGAR con excepcion de las priebas de dopajes. I.E. El atleta debe estar inmóvil antes de la alzada. El atleta debe tener el control de la barra y hacer una pausa (como si fuera una señal descendente) antes de soltar la barra. Los atletas no pueden tocar la barra con su calzado. Si tiene un problema de los codos antes de comenzar la Alzada mostrar a los jueces su extensión completa de los codos, pausar, a continuación, levantar.
**excepciones para eventos de Clubs o Gimnasios, ver abajo**

REQUISITOS DE ENVÍOS
- La competencia comenzara el 2 de Octubre del 2020 y continúara hasta el 18 de Octubre de 2020, de la Media Noche EST.
- Todos los atletas registrados recibirán un Email con instrucciones y clave para endviar su video
- El atleta debe cargar la identificación oficial del país, pasaporte, conductor Lic., identificación con foto emitida con la fecha de nacimiento.
- Presentación de Pesaje: El atleta debe enviar un vídeo (y hasta 2) con un reloj o temporizador visible que ha sido continúo desde el pesaje (Tenga en cuenta que el VIDEO no necesita ser continuo). Una aplicación de marca de tiempo está bien. La cámara debe colocarse directamente delante del atleta. Todo el cuerpo debe ser visible.
- En arranque y Envion : El atleta debe enviar un vídeo (hasta 2).con las mismas reglas que en la competencia en vivo.
- Todos los pesos deben ser presentados en kilogramos, pero pueden ser filmados y probados en libras o kilogramos.
- Cada envío de vídeo DEBE mostrar claramente los pesos (cada placa) y la campana para verificar la sumisión del peso.
- El nombre del archivo de vídeo debe aparecer de la siguiente manera: Nombre del Atleta, Peso Corporal, Categoría, Sexo, Edad. Subir su Video, limpio y Arranque, Envión y Peso Corporal.
- Formato de vídeo: MP4 otros formatos como. MOV puede ser ilegibles I.E. Videos filmados en un iphone y no convertidos pueden no ser legibles en esta plataforma. Los pueden enviar por, WhatsAp, Facebook Messenger or Email.
- Los vídeos no se publicarán en una galería visible hasta el cierre de la competición, y después de que se publiquen los resultados finales.

COMPETENCIA EFECTUADA EN CLUB o GYM PRIVADO
Directrices de eventos del club reconocidas
Si usted es un administrador de gimnasio/Club o propietario del gimnasio y desea organizar un grupo para ayudar a los atletas Master en la presentación de la Competencia, háganoslo saber. Los resultados del club se utilizarán para la verificación.
- Para participar en cualquier evento celebrado en su Club o Gimnasio, el Club o Gimnasio debe tener al menos UN árbitro de nivel Nacional o IWF presente y estar dispuesto a verificar que todos los pesos son legítimos.
- Cada club será responsable de la verificación del pesaje (por el árbitro de nivel Nacional o IWF),
- Todos los atletas DEBEN RECORDAR y enviar videos en la entrada oficial de elevación, pesaje y foto de perfil. En este caso, para pesar, el atleta cargará el vídeo del pesaje verificado.
- La verificación de marca de tiempo y peso no es necesaria para eventos en persona.
- Se espera que todos los gimnasios o clubs practiquen distanciamiento social, así como cualquier otro requisito establecido por su país o localidad y sus respectivas Federaciones Nacionales de Halterofilia.
- Se publicará una lista de los clubes participantes tan pronto como se verifiquen.

Revisión De Videos
- Las presentaciones serán revisadas por árbitros nacionales o de nivel IWF y superiores para su aprobación y calificación
- El Comité Master de la Federación PanAmericano asignará Jueces a cada grupo de edad / clase de peso a los mismos 3 Jueces para la consistencia
- Si su envío es rechazado, recibirá un correo electrónico informándose de la decisión
- Si su presentación es aceptada, verá los resultados cargados y publicados en el sitio web de la Federación De Master PanAmericana dentro de las 2 semanas posteriores al cierre de la competencia. https://masterpanamweightlifting.org

- Los ganadores de los premios serán notificados y los Resultados publicados dentro de las 2 semanas posteriores al cierre del Campeonato.

Los premios comenzarán a enviarse por correo el 1 de noviembre. Asegúrese de que su dirección es correcta antes de enviar el registro.
La Federación de Máster Panamericana no es responsable de los artículos devueltos.
